Personal data and cookies

The Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (“AP4”) works to safeguard your personal integrity and ensure that you feel secure when we process your personal data. It is incumbent upon us to make sure that all processing of your personal data is conducted in accordance with applicable laws on the protection of personal data.

Following is a brief description of how, when and why we collect and process your personal data. This also includes a description of what rights you have and can exercise vis-à-vis AP4.

More detailed information, including how to exercise your rights, is provided in AP4’s complete integrity notice.

Data protection

Personal data control and personal data processors

AP4 is the personal data controller for the processing of your personal data. If data is transferred for processing by a personal data processor, a personal data processor agreement will be signed between AP4 and the processor to protect your personal data.

AP4 will not sell your personal data to any other party.

Collection and processing

The data about you that AP4 processes about you is data that you yourself have provided to AP4 in connection with your interaction with us, either as a private person or as a representative for a contractual party to the fund. Data may also have been collected from a third party, such as a public register or your employer, in cases where AP4 has a business relationship with it.

At AP4 we may process your personal data to:

  • Communicate with you (for example, when you apply for a job)
  • Enter into or conclude an agreement

The legal bases for the processing in these cases are “performance of a task carried out in the public interest” or "balancing of interest". We do not use your personal data for any incompatible purpose, and we save it only as long as necessary.

Your rights as a data subject

In connection with AP4’s processing of your personal data, as a data subject you have a number of rights. As a data subject you have the right to:

  • Request information about which personal data about you that AP4 processes (“register extract”)
  • Request that AP4 rectifies inaccurate or incomplete data about you
  • Under certain conditions, request that AP4 erases data about you
  • Under certain conditions, request that AP4 restricts processing of your personal data
  • Transfer data that about you that AP4 has to another personal data controller (data portability)
  • Under certain conditions, object to AP4’s processing of your personal data
  • Lodge a complaint with the Swedish Data Protection Authority if you believe that AP4 is processing your personal data in an unlawful manner
