Investing in UN targets

AP4 is one of nine global investors that has pledged our intention to invest in accordance with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). In order to promote and encourage these kinds of value-creating investments, here after Sustainable Development Investments (SDI), a definition is provided.  SDI investments, like other investments, should of course meet requirements for expected returns.

Institutional investor signatories include AP1, AP2 and AP3, PGGM, Fiduciary Management MN, APG, Actiam and Kempen.

The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals are important for investors as they support investments in solutions to major global problems, while also contributing to the prerequisites for high sustainable returns long-term, says Per Colleen, Head of Equities and acting CEO at AP4.

The UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 agenda aim to, among others, solve the climate crisis, eradicate extreme poverty and reduce the inequalities and injustices in the world. In order to achieve these ambitious goals  it is essential that governments, civil society and the business sector work togheter.
